Privacy Policy

1 Introduction

PPL Ace (“the App”) is a study companion for the FAA Private Pilot License written knowledge test. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data the App handles, how it is stored, and your rights.

2 Data We Do NOT Collect

PPL Ace does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Names, email addresses, or contact information
• Location data
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Browsing or search history
• Health, financial, or biometric data
• Analytics or usage tracking data

3 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device to power your study experience:

• Quiz history — scores, dates, and question responses
• Topic progress — best scores and session counts per topic
• Spaced repetition data — review intervals and difficulty ratings
• Bookmarked questions — questions you’ve flagged for review
• App preferences — daily goal, reminder settings, and test date

This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third party. If you delete the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

4 In-App Purchases

PPL Ace offers optional premium subscriptions and a one-time purchase through Apple’s App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID.

5 Third-Party Services

PPL Ace does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking frameworks. The App does not use:

• Google Analytics, Firebase, or similar analytics tools
• Facebook SDK, ad networks, or attribution services
• Crash reporting services (e.g., Crashlytics, Sentry)
• Any other third-party SDKs that collect user data

6 Children’s Privacy

PPL Ace does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since the App does not collect personal data from any user, it is compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

7 Data Security

All study data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s standard data storage frameworks (SwiftData and UserDefaults). The data benefits from the device-level security provided by iOS, including device encryption and passcode/biometric protection.

8 Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:

• Access — View your study data anytime within the App
• Delete — Use “Reset All Progress” in Settings, or delete the App
• Portability — Your data is managed through standard iOS backups

9 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
