SeatLock - Airline Interview Prep
SeatLock ("the App", "we") helps pilots prepare for airline interviews. This policy explains what the App stores, what leaves your device, and the choices you have.
This data is stored only on your device. It isn't sent to us, and it isn't synced to iCloud by the App.
The App asks for your permission before it sends anything to an AI service. If you allow it, each AI-graded answer sends:
Ask George sends the question you type or speak and your target airline.
This information is sent over HTTPS to SeatLock's server (hosted on Cloudflare), which forwards it to a third-party AI service and returns the feedback. Your name, email, contact details, and voice recordings are not sent.
You can turn AI feedback off at any time in Settings > AI Features. When it's off, answers get an estimate calculated on your device and nothing is sent to an AI service.
Requests to our server (AI grading, Ask George, question audio and pilot reviews) include Apple's anonymous app-specific device identifier (identifierForVendor) so the server can enforce daily usage limits and allow one review per device per airline. The server stores daily usage counts for that identifier and deletes them automatically within 2 days. With reviews and debriefs it stores only a salted hash of the identifier, never the identifier itself. The identifier can't be used to identify you and isn't linked to your name, Apple ID, or answers.
Turning your spoken answers into text uses Apple's Speech framework. Depending on your device and settings, Apple may process the audio on its servers. Apple's handling is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
When the natural "Alex" voice reads a question aloud, the question's text is sent through SeatLock's server to a third-party text-to-speech service. If you allow AI feedback, the same service also receives the text it reads for "Hear it" (the AI's rewrite of your answer) and the spoken feedback in Car Mode. Your voice recordings, name and contact details are never sent. Generated audio is cached on your device.
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment information.
Practice reminders and the Question of the Day are scheduled on your device. No notification data is sent to us.
If you post a review of an airline or of its interview, the review's text and ratings are stored on SeatLock's server and shown to other users of the App, anonymously. Reviews are held for moderation before they appear, can be reported by other users, and you can edit or delete your own review at any time from inside the App. Other users' reports and "helpful" votes are stored against a salted hash of their device identifier, so a device can vote once. Don't include your name, contact details or anything that identifies another person; the server rejects links, email addresses and phone numbers.
After an interview, you can share an anonymous debrief: the airline, the month, the outcome and which questions from the bank came up. Nothing free-text is shared. This is on by default in the debrief form, can be turned off there, and feeds the "Asked recently" summary other pilots see. You can withdraw it from inside the App: remove the interview in Settings > Past Interviews and the shared copy is deleted too.
SeatLock's server does not store your answers, transcripts, or questions. It passes each request to the AI provider and returns the result. It keeps only:
Cloudflare, which hosts the server, may process IP addresses and request metadata for security and operations under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Our AI and text-to-speech providers process requests under commercial API terms that prohibit using the data to train their models. They keep it only for a limited period (generally up to 30 days) for safety and abuse monitoring, or longer if required by law or a policy violation. We can name the current providers on request.
We do NOT:
SeatLock is intended for adults preparing for airline pilot interviews and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We'll update this page and the "Last Updated" date when the policy changes. If a change affects what leaves your device, we'll also tell you in the App.
